What We’re Reading July 28, 2015

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Tuesday, July 28, 2015.

The Export-Import Bank shows how weak and corrupt the GOP Leadership (led by Mitch McConnel, John Boehner, Orrin Hatch and John Cornyn) are.

The dueling battles over gay marriage and abortion may mean more than we realize. Even as we lose ground on marriage, we’ve been winning battle after battle to protect the sanctity of life, and that is a very big deal.

Crime is bad… but it was hard for me to be upset when I read this story. Apparently, a pro-life hacker group has hacked Planned Parenthood and is preparing to release all of their private data – including ALL emails from the monstrous baby-murdering corporation.

Chinese Christians are up in arms protesting the government’s crackdown on their churches and religious iconography.

Christian leaders – including an 89-year-old bishop – have taken to the streets of eastern China to protest against an “evil” campaign to remove crosses that many see as a coordinated Communist party attack on their faith.

Activists say more than 1,200 crosses have been stripped from churches in Zhejiang province since the government initiative began in late 2013. There has been a spike in such actions in recent weeks.

The government of Mexico was (and is) searching for 43 missing college students when they found something even more grisly than they expected.

Mexico’s attorney general says authorities have found at least 60 mass graves with 129 bodies in the southern city of Iguala since the disappearance of 43 college students there last September, a case in which the government says the youths were killed and incinerated.

Recently, there’s been an interesting development of Blue State voters electing Republican leaders.

President Barack Obama is really, really unpopular.
