What We’re Reading June 16, 2015

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Tuesday, June 16, 2015.

America the land of “Micro-Aggressions” or more accurately “Micro-Totalitarianism.”

The political left has come up with a new buzzword: “micro-aggression.”

Professors at the University of California at Berkeley have been officially warned against saying such things as “America is the land of opportunity.” Why? Because this is considered to be an act of “micro-aggression” against minorities and women. Supposedly it shows that you don’t take their grievances seriously and are therefore guilty of being aggressive toward them, even if only on a micro scale.

Conservative Reihan Salam likes Jeb Bush but he doesn’t “like, like” Jeb Bush. In a recent article for Slate magazine Salam thanks Jeb for getting in but respectfully asks him to now graciously bow out!

Ramesh Ponnuru of the National Review argues that conservatives should be leading the way in trying to get every American insured.

There are good reasons to embrace a conservative health-care policy that enables coverage for all Americans who seek it — not the least being that in the present political context, that policy might be the best way to restrain both costs and government.

While the Democrats dither and fear monger all while taking the black vote for granted, most of the Republican Party just sits idly by, refusing to even attempt to earn their vote.

In a bit of malarkey, Meredith Talusan, writes that there is no comparison between transgender people and Rachel Dolezal. Talusan goes on to argue that most transgenders don’t “choose” to be so and Dolezal’s decision to “be black” was completely a choice. This, of course, is complete and utter claptrap both Dolezal and transgenders CHOOSE to do what they do.

Why won’t liberals (and especially feminists) offer up any opposition to the incredibly misogynistic and rabidly illiberal Muslim madmen of ISIS?
