So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Tuesday, May 19, 2015.
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal (R-LA) announced on Monday that he is forming a presidential exploratory committee for a possible Presidential run in in 2016. This has been a virtual certainty for months (maybe even years) now, but it’s nice to see it official. Jindal is a solid conservative option and a man of great character.
ABC News is reporting that Ohio Governor John Kasich (R-OH) is all but assured to also throw his hat in the ring as a contender for the GOP nomination in 2016. The Governor of Ohio is not as consistently conservative as Jindal, but Kasich does enjoy a much higher approval rating (in his home state) than Gov. Jindal.
The GOP leadership is planning to cap Presidential debate participants at 9 – 12 candidates! This means that someone, in fact a few someones, will be left off the debate stage. Ben Domenech at the Federalist has one simple way to fix any and all GOP Presidential debate problems!
How sad would it be if the GOP establishment was simply campaigning for a 3rd term of President George W. Bush?
