Can the Doctrinaire Muslim Be My Neighbor? On the Hate-Speech Embedded in Islamic Prayer

“Then your Lord spoke to His angels and said, ‘I will be with you. Give strength to the believers.  I will send terror into the Kafirs’ hearts, cut off their heads and even the tips of their fingers!’”  —Koran 8:12

What Is a Kafir?

Before any meaningful discussion of Muslim prayer can take place, the term Kafir must be clearly defined, since Kafirs play a significant role in Islamic prayer.  This is especially true from the point of view of one who happens to be a Kafir.

A Kafir is an unbeliever, but this Muslim term for “unbeliever” is highly negative in its connotation and is probably worse than the N-word in English.  The literal denotation of the term is that of a “concealer.”  The word is an accusation that non-Muslims are liars who cover up the truth.  By leading their lives the way they do, and by espousing the belief system they do, Kafirs reject and misrepresent Allah’s true and perfect religion by corrupting its original form.

islam2Moses (Musa) and Jesus (Isa) were perfect prophets sent by Allah to bring the correct teachings into the world, only to have them concealed and distorted by the Jews and Christians.  This is why Allah hates Jews and Christians.  In order to be a “true” Jew or Christian, according to Muhammad, a Jew or Christian must confess that Muhammad is the last and greatest of Allah’s prophets.  A Jew or Christian who will confess this may be granted an opportunity to live as a Dhimmi, a half-slave who relinquishes all natural rights—even the right to self-defense—and agrees to pay the jizya tax of 50% of all income.

Islamic Prayer

Every single day, doctrinaire Muslims pray for Kafirs to experience pain and suffering.  This is all according to the sacred teachings of the Koran.  Also embedded within the prayers is the unmistakable stipulation that a doctrinaire Muslim must never befriend a KafirKafirs are forsaken objects of scorn and derision; they are worthy not only of contempt, but of hellfire as well.  They are utterly condemned in the minds of true-believers.

Muslims pray to Allah five times a day, and, every time they pray, they make negative references to Kafirs.  There is nothing moderate about a human being who would say such prayers five times a day.  This is why so many contend that there is no evidence of a “moderate Islam.”  There may, indeed, exist moderate people who call themselves Muslims out of some form of cultural identification.  But if any of these people begin to recite the following prayers, on any kind of a regular basis, they give up any claim to moderation at that point.

Daily Prayers to Allah

islam2worldFirst Prayer: O, Allah, we ask You for help and seek Your forgiveness.  And we believe in You and have trust in You.  And we praise You in the best way.  And we thank You and are not ungrateful to You.  And we forsake and turn away from the Kafirs.

O, Allah, we worship You only and pray to You and prostrate ourselves before You.  And we run towards You and serve You.  And we hope to receive Your mercy.  And we fear Your punishment.  Surely the Kafirs will receive Your punishment.

Second Prayer: O, Allah, verily we seek Your help.  We believe in You, we put our trust in You, and we praise You, and we are not ungrateful to You.  Oh Allah, You alone do we worship, and to You we pray and prostrate.  For Your sake, we strive.  We hope for Your mercy and fear Your punishment, for Your punishment will surely reach the Kafirs.

O, Allah, punish the Kafirs of the People of the Book [proselytizing Christians] who are preventing others from following Your way.

Third Prayer: In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful, all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the World, the Beneficent, the Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgment.  You do we serve, and You do we beseech for help.  Keep us on the right path—the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favors.  Not the path of those upon whom Your wrath is brought down [Jews], nor those who go astray [Christians].

The Dilemma: True Friend versus True Believer

How can one know whether or not a Muslim acquaintance is a true friend or a true believer?  Since Islam endorses the practice of taqiyya—or sacred deception—however a Muslim chooses to answer your question about friendship could be either truth or taqiyya.  And how does one know which it is?  This is a real problem, and it may, in the end, be an unsolvable one.

One must actually experience reading some verses from the Koran in order to receive a clear picture of the magnitude of the problem that Islam creates for good-hearted non-Muslims who would like to live in a world where the Golden Rule applies universally: “Do unto others as you would have them to unto you.”  Or, if you would prefer a verse from the Bible, “You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge, against the children of your people, but thou shall love your neighbor as yourself: I [am] the LORD.”  —Leviticus 19:18  And, of course, in the Judeo-Christian worldview, the word “neighbor” means “any person you know.”  Jews and Christians are commanded to love everyone universally.

Koranic Verses on Friendship between Believers and Kafirs

“Believers should not take Kafirs as friends in preference to other believers.  Those who do this will have none of Allah’s protection and will only have themselves as guards.  Allah warns you to fear Him for all will return to Him.”  —Koran 3:28

Islamic-Terrorists1“O, you who believe!  Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors.  They are but friends and protectors to each other.  And he among you that turns to them [for friendship] is of them.  Verily Allah guides not an unjust people.”  —Koran 5:51

“Your [real] friends are Allah, his apostle [Muhammad], and [your fellow] believers—those who establish regular prayers and regular charity; and those who bow down humbly [in worship].”  —Koran 5:55

“O, you who believe!  Take not My enemies and yours as friends—offering them [your] love, even though they have rejected the Truth that has come to you, and have [on the contrary] driven out the prophet and yourselves [from your homes], because you believe in Allah your Lord!  If you have come out to strive in My way and to seek My good pleasure, take them not as friends, holding secret converse of love and friendship with them; for I know full well all that you conceal and all that you reveal.  And any of you that does this has strayed from the straight path.”  —Koran 60:1

Islam’s Dual System of Ethics

Muslims are taught in the Islamic Trilogy—the Sira (Life of Muhammad), the Hadith (Traditions of Muhammad), and the Koran—to treat their fellow Muslims one way and Kafirs another way.  Sixty percent of Islamic sacred text concerns itself with how to treat the Kafirs.  The disparity is so great between the two different ethical systems that murdering a fellow Muslim is punished by death, but the murder of a Kafir receives no punishment at all!  Torturing Kafirs is also permitted, because there is nothing a Muslim can conceive of doing to the body of a Kafir that can cause anywhere near the suffering that Allah will put him through.  And Allah’s hell is a place where the flames are sixty-nine times hotter than earthly fire.

The Final Prophet and Last Reformer

Muhammad consistently maintained, during his life, not only that he was the greatest prophet of Allah, following in the Islamic tradition of Moses and Jesus, but that he was the final prophet as well.  This means that there cannot be any changes to Islam after Muhammad.  Being Allah’s final prophet means being Islam’s final arbiter, as well.  And what true believer can dispute this incontrovertible fact?  For does Allah not say to Muhammad, in Koran 68:4, “Behold!  You are of the highest noble character”?  So this begs the question: Why would Allah say such a thing, if a prophet of still nobler character were yet to come?

Q.E.D.

So, although people can make claims with regard to their own attitudes of moderation—and non-observant, cultural Muslims might be feeling neighborly—Islam itself can never give in to moderation of any kind.  Indeed, a true-believer would never stand for it.
