50 Shades of Grey Teddy

What a great gift idea, right?

Thankfully the description tells us that this is “an adult gift,” otherwise we might be suspicious. I mean, lots of adults collect teddy bear’s right? What a great gift for all of the people who closely associate sex and violence and how great is it that we can now use this teddy bear to normalize that connection!

I’m trying to be ironic of course, because it is ironic, right? Liberals have been trumpeting false claims about “the rise” of violence against women on campuses for some time, yet here they are in full-throated support of “artistic” ventures like 50 Shades of Grey that openly promote the entangling of sex and violence!

Some fool who doesn’t deserve to be teaching our children doubled-down on the dumb by turning 50 Shades of Grey into a MIDDLE SCHOOL word search assignment! (Seriously, who finds these people to teach our kids?)

50_SHADES_ASSIGNMENT

Parents of kids at a Middle School in the Monessen School District just south of Pittsburg in Pennsylvania were shocked to learn that their students were given a 50 Shades of Grey word search assignment!

Parent James Carter complained about it at Tuesday night’s school board meeting, saying he tried to question the school’s principal and dean of students, but they refused to talk when he insisted on recording their conversation.

“I wanted to record the conversation because a lot of parents had questions about it, and I was denied that,” Carter told the board.

“We were stunned,” said Claudese West, a close family friend of one of the students who received the risqué word search.

“I kept asking, ‘Was this health class? How old were these students?’” West said. “I said, ‘How many kids received this? What teacher was behind this?’ What professional would even hand this out to 13-year-olds?”

Some of the words listed included, “genital clamp,” “intercourse,” “spanking,” “bondage” and “leather cuffs.” Local news stations are reporting that some of the words were more explicit.

One of the worst criminal problems facing our nation (and our world) today is that of sexual exploitation and human trafficking. In a day and age when we could be fighting to end these scourges, our culture is openly embracing a book and movie that promotes violent sexuality which can only lead to more sexual exploitation.

Think about it.

The vast majority of people will not choose to explore these sexually deviant desires – so the few who are interested will be driven to use prostitution to satiate their desires. It is a vicious cycle, and while the book 50 Shades of Grey may seem like nothing more than another piece of garbage literature, it is actually promoting and encouraging deviant sexual behavior, which can most easily be “fixed” through sexual exploitation.

It’s time to stop the cycle. Tell the book publishers and the movie makers that we won’t be part of this horrible cycle of exploitation and violence against others.
