As a stumbling, foundering America continued to teeter on the brink of destruction, she was given a brief reprieve by the gridlock created by the Grace of a House GOP majority since the 2010 election. Realizing by 2012 that he was unlikely to obtain a House Democratic majority in the November elections even if he won a second term, Obama began his two year campaign to paint Congress as ” do-nothing “, perhaps aware of Truman’s success with the tactic against Republicans in 1948.
Paired with the ” do-nothing ” rhetoric, was the start of Obama’s blatantly unconstitutional series of “executive actions” which he tried to excuse in part based on Congressional inaction. ” Send me a bill “, Obama so arrogantly retorted, when queried about his orders bypassing Congressional authority to grant amnesty to 5 million illegal aliens.
The November 2014 midterm elections, a resounding national repudiation of Obama’s policies, his illegal executive actions and his empty claims that America’ problem was the ” do nothing ” Congress, granted the new Congress – and America – both an opportunity and a warning. With solid majorities in both houses of Congress, literally scores of conservative legislative acts can now be passed and promptly sent to Obama’s desk.
Americans who followed the 2014 midterm election campaign and voted, clearly saw through the false ” do nothing ” claims as the result of bottling up House passed bills by then majority leader Harry Reid in the Senate where they were ” dead on arrival “. With Conservatives in full control of both houses of Congress, the legislative ” ball ” is in the conservatives’ court; failure to enact significant legislation, and lots of it – is crucial, or this time, with the ever arrogant Obama on the campaign stump with his personal agenda and threatening vetoes and more illegal executive actions, can make the ” do nothing ” charge stick this time around.
For the Conservative majorities in Congress, 2015 is for them and all Americans,” legislate or die”! Legislate, legislate, legislate, enact the entire bottled up conservative agenda, and drop that stack of long overdue bills onto Obama’s desk, pronto. Otherwise, a dire warning: fail to act and you will be labeled ” do nothing ” by Obama and the Democrats; fail to act, and you will in fact, be a ” do nothing ” Congress, and will be recognized as such by the American people. Fail to act, and the Republican Party will die; fail to act, and America as a nation, will die!
Let Obama veto as he has threatened; it is he who will be branded as ” do nothing “!
Congress must legislate, legislate and legislate – Obama “veto threats” should be ignored.
After six years of dreadful and evil destruction that has brought America to the brink, the next two years are likely our last best chance for Conservative legislation. It is also likely America’ last best chance to survive! May God help us, should Congress fail to act – and act now.
