Shock Video – Police Officers Turn their Back On Liberal Mayor!

It has been a rough month for the city of New York. Mayor Bill de Blasio (D-NY) has been under constant fire from all sides because of his decisions amid the recent racial tensions and police actions. The latest blow comes as two NYPD officers, Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu, were executed while sitting inside their squad car in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood.

Just last week the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (PBA) and the many officers associated with that organization spoke out in protest of Mayor de Blasio’s handling of the Eric Gardner situation.

The Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (PBA) sent out a flier to all of their members saying, “DON’T LET THEM INSULT YOUR SACRIFICE!” The flier also encouraged officers to sign a waiver telling certain politicians that they were not welcome at their funeral if they were to die in the line of duty.

“I, as a New York City police officer, request that Mayor Bill de Blasio and City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito refrain from attending my funeral services in the event that I am killed in the line of duty.

Due to Mayor de Blasio and Speaker Mark-Viverito’s consistent refusal to show police officers the support and respect they deserve, I believe that their attendance at the funeral of a fallen New York City police officer is an insult to that officer’s memory and sacrifice.”

Now with the murder of these two officers, the tension between the Mayor and the Police Department has come to a boiling point. As Mayor de Blasio and Police Chief Bratton arrived at the press conference to announce the assassinations of these two officers the men and women of the NYPD turned their backs (literally) on the mayor and his entourage in a startling show of disgust.

Police say the assassination of the two officers was inspired because of the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, both at the hands of police officers.

A 28-year old man from Baltimore, MD is responsible for the two officers’ deaths. Ismaaiyl Abdula Brinsley shot and wounded his girlfriend earlier in the day and then posted a cryptic message to his social media telling his friends and acquaintances, that he planned to be “putting wings on pigs.”

Bill de Blasio NYPDThe head of the PBA, Patrick Lynch, laid the blame for these killings squarely at the feet of City Hall and Mayor de Blasio.

“There is blood on many hands, from those that incited violence under the guise of protest to try to tear down what police officers do every day. That blood on the hands starts at the steps of City Hall, in the office of the mayor.”

Mayor de Blasio was not just taking heat from those inside New York City; former police Commissioner Ray Kelly says that the Mayor owns some of the blame for his response to recent events.

“I think when the mayor made statements about that he had to train his son — who is biracial — to be careful when he’s dealing with the police, I think that set off this latest firestorm. And quite frankly, the mayor ran an antipolice campaign last year when he ran for mayor,” said former Commissioner Kelly.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Long Island Congressman Peter King (R-NY) condemned de Blasio, but both also chose to talk about what the politicians at the National level should be doing to stop these things from happening.

Rudy Giuliani (R-NY):“We’ve had four months of propaganda starting with the president that everybody should hate the police. The protests are being embraced, the protests are being encouraged. The protests, even the ones that don’t lead to violence, a lot of them lead to violence, all of them lead to a conclusion. The police are bad, the police are racist. That is completely wrong.”

Peter King (R-NY): “It’s really time for our national leaders, the president, the mayor of New York and really for many in the media to stop the cop bashing, to stop this antipolice rhetoric. I mean, for the last four months, we’ve basically heard nothing other than the cops are guilty, presumed cops are guilty, then the grand jury says they’re not going to be indicted. People demonstrate, march in the streets, and it’s so slanted.”

Jazz Shaw at HotAir believes the time has long since passed for Mayor de Blasio to retire.

It is time for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio to resign. Yesterday’s assassination of two of New York City’s finest was only the latest and most devastating brush stroke on a canvas which has been coming into focus for months. When you are the mayor of a city you have many responsibilities, but one of the most vital (in terms of maintaining a functional societal structure) is the mandate to enforce the laws and maintain social order.

Part of the problem is that liberal philosophy and belief almost demands that liberal politicians have a bad relationship with law enforcement. Mayor de Blasio is a socialist, even borderline communist, and his beliefs on the structure of society and the tension between the upper and lower socio-economic classes demand that he side with the “downtrodden” against the powers that be… EXCEPT he is “the powers that be.” Liberals inherently make bad leaders because their philosophy says that the leaders ARE bad.
