America is so racist.
That has been the tenor of the news cycle for the past few months. Liberals of every shape, color and size have been flocking to cable news outlets to tell us all just how racist we really are. We’re probably not as racist as they think, but they’re probably a lot more sensitive about it than they should be.
Do you know how I know the left is way too sensitive and politically correct today?
Because behind closed doors they make the same kind of insensitive jokes that they deride other people for. For example, recently the co-chairwoman of Sony Studios, Amy Pascal, was on her way to an Obama fundraiser in Hollywood when she asked her friend and fellow liberal (and movie producer) Scott Rudin for advice on what she should say to the President. He responded that she should ask for funding for movies… and that’s when things got “playfully” racist. (By playfully – I mean still racist.)
According to Buzzfeed, Pascal asked Rudin for advice before going to an Obama fundraiser hosted by DreamWorks Animation head Jeffrey Katzenberg, particularly what she should ask the President “at this stupid Jeffrey breakfast.”
“I doubt it. Should I ask him if he liked DJANGO?” said Pascal, with Rudin replying “12 YEARS.”
“Or the butler. Or think like a man?” continued Pascal, who is a major donor for the Democratic party and President Obama.
“Ride-along. I bet he likes Kevin Hart,” said Rudin.
So you would think with all of this negative attention from the Hollywood magazines like Variety and Buzzfeed that the focus would be on the racially insensitive remarks of these two high powered liberals. Nope. Not so much.
Most of the main stream coverage of the email leaks has gone to the movie industry specific information leaked (some nasty bits about certain actresses and filmmakers) or to the cyber crime aspect of the story. Only on CNN did they even mention the racially charged remarks… and that was by accident!
Did you notice that CNN host Carol Costello (she of the infamous Palin Brawl media fiasco) seemed to not even notice the racial element in the story, until her guest Nischelle Turner mentioned it? Can we play that old game together? You know the one…
Can you imagine if this had been two high profile Republican donors who had said these things?
The media would be having a field day. The only story they’d be discussing is the racist comments made by two rich Republican donors. However, because these are liberal Democrat donors…
NO STORY. Nothing to see here, keep moving along….
It gets tiring, doesn’t it? Two Democrats can make a joke, no big deal – they’re just kidding. Two Republicans make a similarly bad joke – it’s proof Republicans are racist.
What a crock, as they say.
