The Democrats have taken the politics of race and race-baiting to a whole new level this election cycle. In Georgia and North Carolina we’ve seen advertising from the Democrats that implies the return of lynchings if the GOP wins, we’ve heard the Democrat Senator from Louisiana say that Democrats aren’t popular in the South because of racism, and now a long-time Democrat leader, Charlie Rangel, literally says that if the GOP wins, then slavery will make a comeback.
“Everything we believe in, everything we believe in they hate. They don’t disagree – they hate… Some of them believe that slavery isn’t over and that they won the Civil War.”
Um, first of all Charlie… the Republican Party did win the Civil War. Just so you know. The President and the majority of Congress during the Civil War were Republicans.
The politics of racial animosity have become so heated that even the New York Times has taken notice of the disgusting tactics coming from the Democrats. In a recent editorial they reported on the seeming explosion of disgusting race baiting taking place in tough races in the South.
In the final days before the election, Democrats in the closest Senate races across the South are turning to racially charged messages — invoking Trayvon Martin’s death, the unrest in Ferguson, Mo., and Jim Crow-era segregation — to jolt African-Americans into voting and stop a Republican takeover in Washington.
The images and words they are using are striking for how overtly they play on fears of intimidation and repression. And their source is surprising. The effort is being led by national Democrats and their state party organizations — not, in most instances, by the shadowy and often untraceable political action committees that typically employ such provocative messages.
Bill O’ Reilly of Fox News recently took the subject on during his Talking Points Commentary Segment.
Speaking of the horribly slanted race-baiting advertising being undertaken by liberals in southern states, O’Reilly had this to say (in part);
Now we looked for similar racial stuff on the Republican side but could not find any. So it seems the race card is being played exclusively by Democrats in order to stimulate African-American voting.
Secondly, the Democrats who are doing these things are obviously trying to distill division and hatred. That is not — not the American way. Each candidate running for office next Tuesday should stand on his or her record and vision. We don’t need vicious propaganda.
And then there is the bigger question why African-Americans believe only one political party is looking out for them. 2012 President Obama received 93 percent of the black vote, understandable because he is the first person of color elected to the Oval Office.
However, the President’s policies have not really benefited black Americans very much…
Summing up — racial politics are abhorrent, and black Americans should rebel against them.
You won’t often find me quoting Bill O’Reilly, but on this he’s mostly right. These attacks are not fair, they are unbecoming and they are abhorrent.
I’m not saying that racism doesn’t exist in America – it does. In pockets, slivers and individuals scattered across our nation… racism is still alive and well. However, as a culture at large we have grown to detest racism. No matter the shade of your skin, in America, the vast majority of our 315 million citizens no longer agree with race based judgmentalism or hatred. This even applies to political conservatives.
We don’t hate you or your constituents, Charlie. We disagree with your plans and policies for America. Disagreement is not hatred, not matter how loudly you claim that it is…
